By installing or using the Bollywood Today application ("App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App. These Terms constitute an "electronic record" in terms of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules thereunder, and the amended provisions pertaining to electronic records in various statutes as amended by the Information Technology Act, 2000.
The App is a free news aggregator that displays headlines, thumbnails and short excerpts of Hindi-cinema ("Bollywood") stories from publicly-available sources, including The Hindu, Hindustan Times, The Indian Express, NDTV, News18, Bollywood Hungama, Pinkvilla, Wikinews, and public Reddit JSON. The App uses an on-device neural Text-to-Speech engine to read excerpts aloud with auto-advance, skip, and speed controls. It does not require an account.
All headlines, thumbnails, summaries and linked articles are the property of their respective publishers. The App displays them under the fair-dealing exception recognised in s. 52(1)(a)(iii) of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 (fair dealing for the purpose of reporting current events and current affairs, including the reporting of a lecture delivered in public) and the analogous fair-use / fair-dealing / news-reporting exceptions in the U.S., EU, UK, Singapore and Australia. This follows the established news-aggregator model (Google News, Flipboard, Apple News, DailyHunt, Inshorts). The App does not reproduce full articles; tapping "Read full article" redirects you to the original publisher.
Wikinews content is available under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 (CC-BY 2.5) licence and is attributed in-app alongside the story.
If you are a rights holder and believe the App is displaying your content outside what fair dealing permits, contact halcyonaudio.app@gmail.com. In accordance with Rule 3(2)(a) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and remove the source from our aggregation within 15 days of verifying the rights claim (or sooner for obvious infringements).
You agree not to:
You shall not, while using the App, host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update, or share information that:
The App itself is read-only — it does not permit user-generated content — so this clause applies primarily to your conduct outside the App when interacting with linked publishers.
The App is provided on an "as-is" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time. News sources may change. Backend endpoints may be moved or renamed.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. In some jurisdictions (notably under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in India and EU consumer-protection law), certain statutory rights cannot be excluded; those rights are unaffected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Halcyon Audio's total liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for it (which is zero). We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages.
When used in an Android Automotive OS or Android Auto environment, the App follows the distraction-free UI requirements published by Google: large touch targets, voice-first playback, and no scrolling news lists while driving. In India, s. 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 penalises dangerous driving, which includes using a mobile device in a way that distracts the driver. You remain solely responsible for driving safely and complying with all road rules.
In accordance with Rule 3(2) of the IT Rules, 2021:
halcyonaudio.app@gmail.comThese Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. The courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in relation to these Terms, without prejudice to any mandatory right you have under your local consumer-protection law to bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction (for example, EU consumers under Art. 17–18 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012).
